The MN Ironman Bike ride has been around since 1967. It is not a triathlon, I believe the name predates the that triathlon series so they are allowed to still use it. It's just a recreational ride. Traditionally it was at the end of April before a pause last year. We had ridden a 52 mile ride in 2017. In MN the end of April can get the strangest weather. We rode through, rain, snow and sleet. On the busiest road in the last 9 miles we had a downpour with car spray. It was a good time because I forgot all of our rain gear. You have to be an iron man(woman) to ride in weather like that. We'll see how much it rains on Saturday, its in the forecast now and would only be fitting for this ride.
