The only thing worth a damn is a good light set that has some brightness. For me reflective gear is fine as fashion but when you require someone else to be shining lights on you to be seen and that is all you have it is not good. I prefer lights first, second and third and then go for reflectivity. It certainly won't hurt anything but without your own lights it can be tough for people to see you.
