To a point. The LandShark is generally in the Super Competition class, which has an 8.90 breakout. That means you can't go quicker than that time. The difference in that rail compared to others, is the wheelbase. Those are around 200 inches, give or take a foot or two, either way, compared to the full sized jobbies, that carry the full 300 inches. Trailering them, and storing them is the upside, along with maneuverability around the pits. The pro classes get all the help and space they need in the pits, and the sportsmen classes get the dirt and the cheap seats.
I have fond memories of the dirt. Usually on the perimeter, foliage at our backs. Hibachi and cooler on the trailer - we made our own "track burgers". Roaming the pits to meet the pro drivers and watch them rebuild between runs.
