I read through all the posts and agree with a great deal of them. But the thing I love most about cycling is that I'm moving myself from point A to point B using my own power. The bicycle is allowing me to be far more efficient than I could ever be on my own, but I'm the engine propelling me forward. I don't care if I'm on a solo or group ride, commuting to and from work or just out with my wife while I'm pulling my dog in his trailer-- I'm moving what's attached to me under my own power. On my Road ID, my last free line reads, "I am my own engine."
