I don’t see a problem with paying someone their asking price if well below FMV. Haggling them even lower? Well that’s another story. Of course every situation is different. Little old lady who needs the money to buy her medicine - maybe a price adjustment is in order..

Last year or so, I was out riding and a guy caught up to me to complement me on my nice looking bike (my Carrera). We chatted, he was riding Campy, so we bonded on that. He had just upgraded to 11 speed and asked me if I wanted his old 10 speed parts. Hell yeah! So we met up and he gave me a box full of 10 speed Chorus and Daytona parts. There was also a Chorus Titanium post in there and I told him I couldn’t take it, it was worth too much. I helped him sell it along with some more Record parts on Paceline.

Nice find OP, the RD is worth the entry price for the whole bike!
