My young daughter and I hiked the Appalacian Trail along the ridge line of Second Mountain north of Harrisburg, PA. Beautiful, quite springtime forest, all alone in nature until...... This "sound" crept into our hearing and grew progressively louder, quickly. When we had stopped dead center on the trail and cranked our necks across the canopy we saw them. In an instant, two A10 Warthogs, inverted, flew overhead, tree top overhead and vanished down the south side of the mountain, back to Indian Town Gap. I'll not forget how glad I was that I'd never be a bad guy, kissing the bottom of a trench with those ground attack machines heading toward me. YIKES!
