Because I don't think anyone can sanely claim international sales of Shimano has hurt anyone, even Shimano...other than corporate America like QBP. This move was entirely about keeping them happy.
Yes, the distributors are absolutely helped. Its always interesting to see how some brands and products excel when supplied thru a distribution company and how other brands and products excel when supplied direct to consumer or thru a simplified online retail setting.
