I think that accomplishes the same thing I was going to suggest - massaging the legs, pushing
up toward the heart, starting at the bottom. If I do this after a big long ride, I notice a difference the next day.
Of course, now that I type that out, it really just sounds like an old wive's tale (or folk wisdom, I guess, if it works).
