I'm definitely not going to the trouble of anodizing them myself. I was thinking that the use of the wheelset (i.e. brake pad) would keep the surface finish as-is.
The problem is that I haven't decided on the long term use of this bike. I already have a spare wheelset that I thought I would put on, but it is 10spd Campagnolo. So do I buy new parts for my Litespeed and move the old parts over to the Trek or just keep piling mileage on both? Or is it a hand-me-down bike?
I should probably add that the Matrix wheel set is true and has never given me any trouble. The only mechanical problem on this bike is a slight runout on the big ring which makes FD trim a little finicky.
It's sort of a moot point right now as there is insufficient discretionary funds for upgrades.

Who in the heck does your painting?
I'm also in Or and am considering, if it isn't too expensive having a frame painted.
I think I remember you saying someone in Canby does your stuff?
Maybe that was just one of your bikes???

I'm Trek-indifferent, for the most part, but I like what you've done to that bike.
I may be the only human on the planet who is utterly unimpressed with the new Madone -- but I like what you've got there.

Beautiful bike! I'm usually not a fan of Treks because of their paint and decals, if all came like yours I'd rock one in two seconds! I love the transition on the chainstays and fork to the blue. It reminds me of staring into the blue flame of a butane torch or something.

Trek hater here. Nothing against them personally I guess, just boring boring boring. I guess for cheap hybrid bikes they are fine, but if I had any decent money to spend on a bike, it would not be on a bike that you see 50 of everytime I'm on the trail.

People want to rally against the machine - it's really as simple as that.
Companies that dominate their field are often a target for the masses. Organizations like Microsoft, Shimano and Trek are a lightning rod for such attacks. It's human nature.

Very nicely photographed. Also, the toned down graphics from the before to after is tastefully done.

Indifferent. I think they make a good bike (as do a lot of companies) but you'll pay a premium because Lance's arse was on one.

saw the first photos of the new madone and wanted one until I saw it in person... just didn't do it for me.
That being said, 55/Rad that is some nice workmanship... and the photograhy looks professional..
Really nice color of red....
would love to have a car in that color...

I hate Trek for one simple reason - everyone seems to ride them. Maybe, I'm a non-conformist but I like to ride bikes that are different and better.

Hater, except for 55/Rad's. It gets annoying having customers come in, demand a Trek bike, then start to walk out as soon as they're informed that we don't sell Trek. Luckily, they usually about-face when we show them a better bike for $200 less. Big ups, Fuji.

Hi All,
I like Trek. They have a "global" market niche and a variety of products to meet just about everyone's needs. Having said that, everyone has a Trek. I've ridden Trek, almost purchased one, but I do have a Lemond when they were "under" Trek. So it has the Bontrager components. Great bike though. Can't fault their business doctrine.
