Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

1) Do the onboard females serve any purpose other than to flash leg?

2) On this date in 1973 they finished the Superbowl, while today we're doing the wildcard round. #SeasonCreep

Cheerleading should be abolished. It’s outdated.

My daughter never wanted to be a cheerleader. She wanted to be cheered.

Sort of like, are you participating or watching? Are you living or existing?

I'm out of beans and it's up to -5° so my wife's Tesla is warming up the interior for me. Just notified me that the interior is now 68°.

I think I underestimated how seriously I would need to take my recovery from hernia repair on 1/9. It was bilateral inguinal laparoscopic and incision for my umbillical one, so they did all three. The incision site is the most sore/painful. On the flip side, as of yesterday I could walk for 10 minutes without pain. I have a hard time taking it easy so that may be my biggest challenge. Always trying to do too much around the house.

My mentality is starting to shift from fitness-maintenance to buckling down and starting over. I'll ask for a PT referral at my post-op in one week, and develop a new routine of light strengthening and cardio that is based upon my recovery. That will give me something to be proactive and positive about. Until then, I'll try to stick to just walking and thinking positively (<---well, trying to at least). I'm done with the oxycodone so that will help.

I've been through this sort of thing before, off the bike for a couple or more months due to previous injuries. I know from past experience that I'll be back. Certainly don't want to overdo it and have a recurrence.

Added three games and a bye week. Season should end on 2/14 but they eliminated 1 week of the 2 week break between Championship week and Super Bowl.

I'll bet you'll do fine, as long as you let pain be your guide. You're also young, so recovery ought to be quicker.

Rebuilding after an injury can be kind of cool, as you watch the fitness curve move up and to the right. That's encouraging.

Wera are quality. Shop-tested. Mechanic approved.

Only 20F here. But I used the heated seats and the heated steering wheel in Mrs. rjones28's Mini on today's cafe run.

The SportWagen doesn't have a heated steering wheel, only heated seats.

Winter is just showing up here. Teens and twenties all this week. The ground might even freeze.
