I'll have 8 weeks of sobriety this weekend, so I spent some money on some new riding swag: New Giro helmet (mine current one is 7 years old!) Pearl Izumi riding jacket, some ear warmers and gloves. First time ordering from Competitive Cyclist... got 20% off the jacket and a free pair of bibs.
Next up: that new wheelset from Retro I've been drooling over!

New front bags for the geared wonder. Hope they lighten up as the oil dries, porous (cheap) leather soaks that stuff up faster than I do beer!

Just planning on keeping it simple -- long rectangles with rounded corners on the down / top / seat tube and probably the chain stays as well.

I decided to big money ball on some open tubulars even went with Tan sidewalls:

...but I plan on just using it for the arms and saving the goofy rainbow bolts for something else. I have the red Wolf Tooth bolts for the chainring I am using.
And one for getting torqued up, cuz:
And I got a few other bits and bobs nothing that horribly exciting (except maybe the Paul Funky Monkey rear so I can finally finish up the Cinelli Work for riding, minus the set dynamo set up)

Almost a full 105 group (*) - no caliper brakes, the canti brakes, a silver Ritchey stem and matching bars, bar tape, cables, housing, etc. My Surly is getting an upgrade from the stock Shimandel drivetrain to an 11 speed 105 group with a 53/39 front and an 11-32 rear. I also have a Cane Creek 110 headset that I need to find some way to install. I started this little upgrade intending to replace a broken bar-con, then something went very wrong. When the is done the only stock parts left will be the seatpost (saddlepole if you like), seat collar, rear brake hanger, and the frame itself.
*) I already have 105/5800 hubs with Archetype rims, I know the cassette will be compatible.

I like to go fast (53/11) and I sometimes need to tow my Yak (39/32). I have a 50/34 with an 11-27 9 speed setup now, and I'd like to try the slightly larger range. If the 53/39 is too much I can swap it with the 50/34 105 rings on my BMC Team Machine.

It really is a nice bag, I live in Vancouver Washington and ride through the winter, was using a pannier to carry rain gear and other incidentals, but this bag does that better by way of keeping things organized and where I can find them, rather than dumped together willy-nilly in a pannier.

Yeah I am building up a fixed gear rando/cross jawn with TRP Revox Cantis and a SP dynamo with Supernova front and rear lights and a Nitto front rack all on one of those there Ci-nelli work mashes.
Right now I am waiting on the rim and spokes to come in. Though I am worried about the rim because I ordered it like almost 2 weeks ago and haven't seen hide nor hair of it. The spokes I just got around to ordering so once I get that all done I just need to figure out the wiring (luckily our company has an E-bike shop and their head wrench is a genius at this shiz).
Did I mention Ti-tanium seatpost on it and also those sexy Challange Strada Bianca open tubulars. I am so excited for it. I cannot wait to finish it and ride it and also post some pictures so ya'll can get all grape jelly.

Makes sense. I have a teammate that runs standard with a 11-32 like you, and iirc 39x32 is a lower gear than what I'm running with a 36x28. Today was the first time I ran out of gears on the top end going 45+ with 52x11 though.
