The last time I saw one of these I wrote to the store and they said they were aware of it and thanked me. I think it was Competitive Cyclist but not sure. That time they didn't change the list price of the bikes. Like they showed the actual list price of the bike, say $12K, and then their "discounted" price of $150.
The one today they changed the msrp first, I suppose to make the "discount" more believable. Like the Cervelo "list" is like $850, on sale for $130.
People do get sucked in to these scams. A guy at work who was not familiar with bicycles, etc. showed me an ad for a mtb he was considering for $80. I tried to tell him it was a $4000 bike but he didn't believe me, I guess because no bicycle could cost that much. He didn't go for it, at least that's what he told me.

I have an old top of the line Kickr from 2016. Screams like a banshee on downhills as opposed to my wife's 2022 Kickr that is quiet. I no longer do Zwift, haven't for years. Too cartoonish for my old man tastes.

...they play it a day earlier on the NY times, for subscribers. It will play on This American Life tomorrow, for free. I figured free was good. But if you want to subscribe to the Times, here's the link.

For everyone with maladies, my brother and his wife have had the following since November 1st:
My brother:
Back surgery, fused a few vertebrae
Hernia
detached retina surgery, twice
Spent three days in the hospital from seizures
His wife:
DNC
Hysterectomy a month later
Now, chemo
I lost a friend this week from esophageal cancer. My problems seem minuscule in my immediate universe.

Way back in the 1980s, when I was single, some nights dinner was Taco Bell. I remember one night, just after they'd introduced their "Steak Fajita Burritos", I was there eating, and the guy who'd been behind me in line goes back up to the counter and starts loudly complaining that the $2.50 Steak Fajita Burrito he'd ordered looked nothing like the sumptuous repast pictured on the posters all over the restaurant. The server was kinda flummoxed - I mean, most people who eat Taco Bell know what they're getting - "Mexican inspired fast food" is charitable.

That's cool you're cleared for the bike. I wonder if lunges are OK? I understand weights and strenuous stuff should be avoided, but those seem to skirt that a little better than actual weight training.
This last deal, my surgeon wanted me in a sling for a lot longer than the other clavicle, which I found strange. Last time, I went in for the post op appointment, and that surgeon asked why I was still in the sling... I liked his thoughts better... Either way, I was on the trainer in a couple weeks, as that's when the ribs allowed that activity, and on the bike in a month. I do suggest never breaking ribs on the back side of the torso, as steady sleep is not a thing that's allowed.

I'd like to develop a strengthening routine that is light and has some element of upper body exercise.... but if I can't come up with anything on my own research, and clear it by dr (over email), I'll just wait.

Mt. Hamilton had some muddy spots last Wednesday. No problem going uphill, but it demanded extra caution going down.

Embrace the Suck EP 22 was pretty good, it's a short one, just right for cooking a hearty breakfast. Careful you don't get Embrace the Suck 21 EP22, Embrace the Suck 21 does not meet my quality standards
In other breakfast news, I got a pourover rig a little while ago and have finally adopted the patience needed for such a venture and just today have finally fine-tuned the amount of coffee to use. The first 3 attempts were strong enough to choke a Turk.

1000 ml water ÷ 17 = 59 grams of coffee . Seems to work.

Not in the mood. I don't wanna get the Lemond muddy and I don't wanna ride that much pavement on the fatbike, also there's a gnarly, rocky downhill on that route which would be way nicer on MTB or fatbike. Maybe I'll work out a loop that's more like 20% paved and ride that on the fatbike sometime.
