He went out and got a shipping quote and then said it would be cheaper for me to buy on Amazon!
I said a) parts aren't on Amazon because they haven't been made in decades and b) the shipping price is peanuts and I am happy to pay it.

I'm in Dominican Republic until Sunday. If no reply from seller I will try and see if someone can grab them for me. Good suggestion and thank you!

@rgvg _ I'd love the 7 speed SRAM and the Sachs chain and the Deore FD. If you get it, can I pay you by etransfer for the parts and the shipping?
I'll pm you if you are still willing. Were you taking your bike on the train?

The train is convenient, but could be optional. It all depends on how I'm feeling. Conceivably I could do the whole trip by bike. One of the routes going there is over a newer bridge I've never been over before so it might actually be educational. I just hate the old bridges here. So noisy and shaky.
Incidentally, is that one Sachs chain or two?

I emailed the guy he says he has 1 chain and the 7 speed. I forgot to ask about the fd. I will text him in the morning to see if I can come by. He did say somebody asked about the chain, so if you can let me know whether that's a show stopper for you, that would be great.

The chain is the big ticket item.
They are so much better than using 8 speeds when running older 6 speed set ups.
I was only interested in the other stuff to offset the cost of shipping.
If the chain I'd gone it's not really worth it to mail.

So that part's done. PM me how you want them shipped to you. Canada post and UPS are pretty close to me, and there's a fedex shipping agent close by as well.
It was a nice little jaunt through Surrey. The short route to his place was pretty nice. A big chunk of it was protected bike lane, and the rest was a "neighborhood bike route". Took me through a nice little park. I'm usually pootling around Vancouver so it was cool to go somewhere else. I should be getting out to the other surrounding cities for recreation. Quite a nice day for it too. It's not overcast, but it was relatively cool and breezy.
Seems the seller had a heart condition and could no longer bike, so he's selling his bike parts. But he seems very healthy and happy, so he's got no complaints.
Okay let me know...
Stopped at a picturesque spot for a picture...

Gitane + Reynolds 531 alert - currently available on Facebook in Montreal for a very reasonable price, a Gitane Tour de France and in orange. If this was my size, I'd already be on my way:

Anybody looking for some Huret Jubile? Reasonably priced at $85. I think I may have bought a bag from this seller before but I can't be sure.
