We buy a lot of Texas-grown fresh produce at our excellent supermarkets. How it is all inferior to what you might get at a farmers' market is a mystery to me.

Done.
My recipe BTW:
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1/8 cup prepared yellow mustard
1/4 cup honey
3/8 cup mayonnaise (can be reduced fat of the 3.5-5.0% variety)
Cayenne pepper (optional). Just a pinch.
Mix well.
Made with the reduced fat mayo, this comes out around 2% fat. Not too shabby.

The best thing about farmers markets is that most is locally grown and you can often find organic produce. That's who I prefer to give my money to instead of corporate farms using tons of pesticides and chemicals. All that perfect-looking produce is loaded with chemicals.

When I was working in Chicago a few years back I would sometimes stop by the farmer's market that came downtown once a week. One day I read an article in the newspaper that stated that in many cases the fruits and vegetables at those markets were not actually grown under the conditions that we are led to believe and that the items are actually from big farms just like the stuff at the grocery store. I was disappointed.
Not all, that's for sure. But not none either.

Don't know if anyone watches Planet Earth, but the new series has debuted and there's a scene where a series of iguanas try to escape some snakes. If you don't like snakes, it is literally the stuff nightmares are made of. Absolutely stunning footage, though.

Depends on the area. In Tifton, GA, they have a $5 menu with the same items fo $7 on the regular menu. However, in the couple we stopped at in Florida, they said there was no such thing as a $5 menu.
Anyway, the portions are normal to small which is good for me. I'll eat everything on my plate and the big chains like IHOP and Dennys tend to have bigger portions.

...to Hungary. For work. For two weeks, but she'll be back.
Still, these trips are when I really miss the poor old fuzzy kitty.

This sort of thing certainly happens - I remember hanging out here a lot more before AG.

I almost never eat full portions anymore. I went out for BBQ lunch with my visiting sister today, and ate like 3 bites of the sandwich (I'm sick and have no appetite, not going to pig out). Still, I knew when ordering that thing that I'd end up with at least 2, if not 3 meals from it. Leftovers FTW.
