Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Several years ago during an organized cycling activity a couple guys just ahead of me saw a bobcat on the Tail of the Dragon, but I didn't see it.

Two more touring cyclists left this morning. These two were riding vintage steel. The 86 Miyata had a 7 speed rear and the 13 Trek 520 had 9. The Miyata was even sporting normal width tires. Quite a difference from the last pair, whose bikes and equipment were ultra-modern. But the chit chat is always beyond rewarding.

I've never seen a bobcat in the wild. Then again, I don't spend much time in the boondocks or other strange places.
I was hunting wild pigs on a ranch in Santa Barbara County where a friend had permission, and as I came down out of the woods I saw a bobcat, standing very still, watching a colony of ground squirrels about 20 yards away. I assume he was waiting for them to forget he was there. I watched him for a couple minutes. I don't know if he didn't know I was there, or didn't care. But when my friend came around the other corner of the meadow, he took off like he'd been lit on fire.

I don't know that I'd go THAT far. I mean, I like 'em and all, but still.

You know what else is really good, though? A GOOD egg salad sandwich.

For breakfast I made scrambled eggs with andouille, red onion, bell pepper, sweet pepper, and sirene.

Now that was good eggs.

Does that mean you will quit saying Doug stole all of your water? Maybe you'll start hydrating? Lots of good from that rainfall.

When I did that Hollywood sign ride early this year one of the club members supported the ride in her car. She brought Deviled eggs along with lots of other goodies. It was the first time I had them on a ride and it was a pleasant surprise. She also refused to take any money from me even though that club hardly knows me.

He has not stolen the water. He/his government has tried to steal water from our beautiful lakes. Not gonna happen.
