Those VELO high density foam grips might be the most similar to old Grab-On MTN-1 grips. Haven't found anyone else comparing them.

Someone said that as soon as ESI silicone foam grips came out Grip-On ones got immediately forgotten by everyone.

The ESI silicone foam grips are softer than VELO high density foam grips. This might mean that ESI are actually worse for some users?
I think too of a springy foam such as silicone one reacts with too much counter pressure which increases overall pressure on hands. The high density foam feels firm and then starts to collapse at certain pressure threshold without being too springy (during bigger road shocks only for example).
There are also Ritchey WCS high density foam grips. Nobody has compared them to VELO high density foam grips. Ritchey WCS seem to have bigger diameter around the pinky finger so might feel less fitting for some people.

ESI FIT SG tapered silicone grips are also not talked about much.
