Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Rad,

Love it. Needs a nice Super Record gruppo, Nisi or Ambrosio tubular rims with Clement seta silks.

Does your count of bikes include frames at the painters?

Marty - the frame is a '90 and I'm not sure if I want to continue with the downtube shifters or maybe throw an all-silver '06 10 speed Centaur group on there. Or an older Chorus group. I think I'll wait to see what happens over the holidays.

The 4 projects are:

1. Pinarello - the chrome one - at the painter being touched up.
2. Tommasini - being sent to factory in Italy for repaint.
3. Tete - enough said.
4. Daccordi...

Rideables:

1. Trek
2. Giordana
3. Fuso
4. Vetta
5. Waterford
6. Ironhorse

90 frame? Ok, scratch the Super Record suggestion.
Older Chorus or Record gruppo (non carbon fibre)
Don't tell the cranky & vintage crowd but I really like like brifters on my Serotta.

The all silver centaur group would look perfect on it. I love my modern campagnolo (the hood shape is wonderful to my hands) on my steel frame. It's hard to pull any other bike off the stand.

I've really taken to the Cane Creek SCR5 brake levers - very Campy-like - with downtube shifters. I've got this combo on 3 bikes already and can't say enough good things. But for some reason, this Daccordi is telling me to go a bit more modern...all silver...all Campy...don't spend too much...

Of course, when it arrives, it'll be singing a different tune.

2 bikes with the Tektro R200A (aka: SCR5), 2 bikes with 2006 & 2007 Campy Ergo. Only difference to my hands is how much strength it takes to get me to a stop.

Why don't you throw one of them steelies my way. You don't need one for every day of the week. Everyone needs a day off.

Art is art. But when it is done, you need to take it on tour. Group BF rides around the country just to see the damn thing. At this point, we're all invested in the outcome.

I think I may build it, photograph it, ride it once and then frame it...

...or burn it....

...or donate it to a worthy cause.

I'll be that worthy cause, if you need.

I think you oughta build this one up with a Campy 50th gruppo to stick with the theme.

I love the SCR-5 levers too, but yeah I'd go a little classier for this one.
