Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Got a flat on the number 2 of third set. So once I got that changed started the third set over.
Based on what I cipher your FTP to be, I think that 320-360 would be more in line for a 40 on/20 easy.

Yes it was a shock to see, strange times, felt like the dealer was going out of business. And I can’t imagine what the sales staff was going through, they had to be freaking out.

right? I mean It had me do 30/15s a week or so ago at 320, and I was able to do 360 with 15 seconds rest.

It’s saying zone 6 for me is 320-360, which seems low. I think I need to do another FTP test. Intervals says it’s 246, I think that might be a touch low too.

Lordy. I've been on half-caff and decaf for a couple weeks, but today I got a triple shot latte at the cafe and I'm extra-alive right now.

TdZ Stage 4, "Legends and Lava" course, 14/981. Better placing than my modest AP would suggest; there was lots of blue and green in my power profile between the two climbs.

Not much to say other than that it was fairly easy. Set a power cap for myself up the climb vs going all-in to stay at the front. Still finished reasonably well. Harder efforts to come later in the week. Gonna need some volume to really move the needle back up though.

a spiky start to separate the front

final climb power profile - less ride than I'd have thought

I am, really.

What you don’t realize is that winter provides an opportunity to HTFU, the only season of the four that does that. Heat gets uncomfortable, yes, but cold brings pain, a big difference. Freezing cold and howling winds and blizzard conditions provide an opportunity to overcome adversity, and it does the psyche good, at least it does mine. It’s the same reason people climb mountains or do other crazy stuff, endorphins. When I lived in the city I used to love to take a walk around the neighborhood during a snow storm, mainly for the challenging conditions, but also for the unique serenity and peacefulness it brought to a place that otherwise never sleeps except for Sunday mornings.

You put on a nice, big down parka with a hoodie, sturdy boots and warm hat and gloves and you’re ready for whatever comes. Invigorating!

There's nothing confusing about this.

50 > 45 > 40 > 35 > 30 > 25 > 20 . . .

My friend from Tahoe was here yesterday and she said there has been very little snow this year and skiing has been crappy. This coming storm may help that area.
Very hot, humid weather beginning in April. Lasting until end of October if we’re lucky—into November if not. Beautiful weather until mid December and then a couple weeks of cold cold. This year that cold cold came a month later than normal. Beginning Feb., it steadily warms until the switch gets flipped early April. However, first week offer this year is cold cold. Vamos a ver
