If you'd put that in the bank right away, you'd have earned so much interest by now!

Today:
- a Park tire lever
- a "Shredlight" https://shredlights.com/collections/products

The light even works, and is remarkably bright for its size.

Today:
A rooftop air conditioning unit. Probably about 1m on a side, it looked like it had literally "fallen off a truck", it was kind of bent up. Smack in the middle of the bike lane.

Put it on the rear rack. Then you'll have AC on your bike rides!

Good idea. I'll have to figure out how to make room on the rack also for a generator though...

I found a bungee yesterday. First thing I've found in a long time. Maybe I'm riding in the dark too much.

I never find anything on the ground when I ride. It's too urban and there's too much foot traffic and cleaners.

I do however, find interesting stuff on the beach that gets washed in every morning (but I'm not on the bike when this happens.)

A very flat deceased badger last Summer. Towards the top of a hill on my regular homeward commute, so holding my breath while downwind was not an option. Ever smelt a dead badger that's been in the sun all day? It's more than a smell. It's got taste and texture too.

sounds like whale spinal fluid. happened across a long dead denuded whale on a local beach while hiking w a friend. tried to cut out one of the vertebrate as an artifact, but the second I stuck my knife into the spine, I almost keeled over right there from the stench. needless to say, I left the remains. now I only collect what is older & entirely cleaned by the sea, bacteria & critters

I found a partly stripped vintage Raleigh Technium frame beside the road a few days ago.

I can't find the serial number... but checked https://bikeindex.org/stolen, and haven't found anything that seemed related.

Being a little ambiguous, but I'd be happy to get it back to the rightful owner. I'll get a craigslist ad put up shortly.

Years ago I found a cell phone that was the exact same model flip phone as what I was currently using and needed to replace due to some internal issues. It didn't have a battery so I had to use my old battery but that was my phone for the next year or so.

In september 2015, found a Blackberry phone while riding the Loop in Acadia National Park (Bar Harbour). Left it at the Police headquarters in downtown BH. Found a neatly, and perfumed, folded 5$ bill. Could have been emergency money. And also found 4-5 small flat keys (up to 1¨).

Why would you smell ground money?

On a related note, I had a friend whose dad was kind of a con man, boasted to me once about how he hid $20 bills between family pictures in his wallet, so he'd always have some cash the wife wouldn't know about.

I didn't actually smell it. The perfume was still powerful and not my favourite. It hit me !

Not exactly current but I was riding a bike. Mid to late fifties, I grew up on Long Island, Merrick to be specific. At the time they were converting potato farms into subdivisions. We lived on our bikes. Two winters found five dollar bills frozen in puddles. Immediately rode to the Long Island Railroad station, still a wood structure, and dried them on the potbelly stove.

Sigh, thanks for letting me trip down memory lane.

Recently, two U.S. quarters.

Which is weird because I live in the Philippines.

This morning on the road I found some cheap sunglasses in a pretty nice case. Surprisingly not yet crushed by vehicles. I put them on the sidewalk in case someone comes back looking.

This morning I found two halves of a "Husky" 1/2" combo wrench. The box end was a ratchet. I really like those kind of wrenches, bummer the thing is broke in half, but I'm keeping them anyways, never know when you need a short wrench for a tight space!

Found a nice blackberry phone. Hit redial, some small talk, 1/2 an hour later a REALLY grateful young lady appeared at the bottom of my driveway with a cold 12 pack of quality ipa. New work phone, lots of info on it yada, yada.
