Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The censor is pretty dumb for sure. Like most mods, I have 0.0% involvement with any technical back end. My job is mostly deleting spam/porn and reporting it when people start name-calling .

They're certainly aware that it needs improvement, but it is worth a reminder every now and then.

The Older Boy and I were up on the roof after cleaning the gutters, enjoying the commanding view, when I saw our neighbor about to make a left turn, with approaching traffic. She didn't go when she had a chance, but then, just as a car was too close to avoid, she turned right into its path. The other car managed to slow enough that it was a pretty low-impact crash and nobody was hurt, but it was really wild seeing it happen.

This was the final straw in her losing her license. Poor dear was schizophrenic, and often over- or undermedicated.

I almost saw a wreck last week. Car drove through a red light like it wasn't even there. Unknown if medication was involved.

Apparently everyone else is afraid to tell you, but it appears you have an unhealthy obsession with the forum's filter. NOBODY complains about the filter other than you. Nobody. And this has been the case for YEARS. You ought to examine that.

When the general BF population begins insulting one another using the term in question then we'll probably consider it.

Body weight is back up a couple lbs, but for all the right reasons. I resumed strength work last week and I already feel a little more muscular and swollen. Things are happening in there, legs core and upper.

I missed out on 4 of the Tour de Zwift stages, so I've been doing them during Makeup Week. Yesterday it was Innsbruck, which has that climb, 4.6 miles of 5.4% average gradient. I'd just done that last week, so I seriously considered going with the Short option, but then I figured I could always just noodle up it if need be. It was a smallish group, only 45 riders. Of course, it split up into groups pretty quickly, with my place going up and down between as high as 18th and as low as 30th, till we got to the base of the climb, then it completely strung out, so I ended up by myself for most of the rest of the ride. For the climb, I just aimed for FTP-level power the whole way up, though I did take slight breaks at only 200w on the parts where it flattens out. I avoided my tendency to go nuts on the watts when getting out of the saddle - you know, jumping from 250 up to 350-400 for 10-20 seconds, then sitting down all spent - and just did the same power seated or standing.

When I hit the first part of the climb, I was 23rd out of 45 - almost exactly mid-pack.

I passed some people and got as low as 20th, then other people passed me, so at the top, I was 23rd again.

On the descent, I kept pushing where I could and coasting where it would be faster, and passed a couple riders who'd caught me on the climb, clawing back up to 21st!

Then they passed my in the town, and I was back to 23rd. Then I caught one on the Legsnapper, and got back up to 22nd! But then they passed me after the spring, and I was back to 23rd.

And that's where I stayed - 23rd.

Last ride is today. Right now the sun is shining and there are no clouds. But it's the last day of Td, and the roads are all wet from last night's rain, AND there's a storm coming in sometime after noon. So, it's ITG for me!

Mrs. GJ and I, always shout "Look at the road!!" when watching movies or TV shows where characters are driving somewhere and the driver turns to exchange looks with the passenger. Mrs. GJ once was riding with a driver who did that, and who ran a red light. Mrs. GJ SWEARS the light turned red, then two cars CROSSED IN FRONT of them, and THEN the woman blew through the light. They emerged unscathed, but Mrs. GJ was FURIOUS!!!

IME crushed nads does the opposite of giving superhuman strength. It makes me double up and wish for a swift, merciful death.

Congrats! Go finish that last stage and get the kit! Funny how silly little things like that can motivate people, myself included. I feel pretty cool motoring around in Watopia with the TdZ kit haha.

I'm considering riding the same event (UCI short lap) later and racing it, since I want a hard ride today.
