I’m slicing them off both bikes.

Not because they are ugly (they are).

But because they are probably filled with sweat that is not ours.

My hands do get tired on cloth tape, especially shellacked cloth tape.

I’ll probably do the skinny inner tube trick before wrapping them.

As a Varsity owner I must beg to agree.......... but everyone should keep one around, they make you appreciate your other bikes so much more. I wonder how many here started their drop bar experience on one of these? My first ride on a 10 speed in the late 60's was on my best friend's green Varsity. I knew right away I wanted a 10 speed, I also immediatley knew I wanted something a hell of a lot lighter LOL!
