If that were the case, I'd be dead long ago with all the rain I've ridden in over the years.

I like to cool-down and mellow-out after a ride.
I like to wait for the sweating to stop, and have
some water and fresh fruit. I DO have to get out
of my riding gear immediately, though. I throw
them into the shower and wash them with myself
and hang them to dry, that way I always have clean
shorts/bibs and jersey ready to roll.

I'd pay good money to see racehorses riding bikes before going for a swim.

Athletes in gyms the world over have been hitting the shower right after a workout for longer than we know.
I don't think I've ever heard a mother tell her kid to hold off on a shower before...

Getting into a shower that's too hot when you're sick is a different matter, then it could be bad.
Otherwise, I don't see how it could be bad unless you come into freezing cold water from an incredibly hot ride.

ahhh, the younger crowd now has much free time for a few months.
one of the absolute best parts of a ride in hot weather is the immediate post ride cold shower, my muscles just relax and i feel great. also a hot shower after a freezing winter ride... AAAHH HMMMMM, does wonders for getting feeling and circulation back.

Can't express how wonderful it is to get into a hot shower after riding for a couple of hours in 15-20 degree weather in the NE. Feels oh so wonderful.

There is a possibility that your muscles could inflammate if you did a crazy extreme ride.

I think this came from ancient Eastern culture, cold water bad on hot body, but back then they didn't have hot water on demand.

Diving into a shower is a bad move. You could break your neck. Always look before you leap.
