I used to be a Trek lover, back when their OCLV bikes actually had paint schemes that were simple and clean, like this. I think the bike looks considerably better now. My second (or first?) hobby is photography, so I have to admit the quality of these shots is what I noticed first.

purty. real purty.
i especially like how the sliver of silver in the fame and fork between the red and blue picks up the silver of the braking surface on the blue rims. i wonder if red sidewall tyres would be too over-the-top?
but yeah, it's sweet.

As an owner of a Trek 5000 I have come to hate the look of the headtube/toptube/downtube junction. It just looks inelegant and out of proportion, especially on the smaller sizes (mine:52cm). Bottom bracket area is no hell either.
Of course my bike would look a lot better if it wasn't always covered in spit, snot, sweat and gel goop and gatorade.

As others have said, gorgeous bike Rad! I don't have anything against owning a Trek, but they are rather ubiquitous. To me, Trek is kinda like a belly button -- everybody has one! I prefer something more unique and, well, "old school..."

I guess you could say I'm "Trek indifferent". However, Rad, That is a very nice bike.
How do you like the Aeroheads? I have a set on my Time Al/carbon and love them - they are on Hope Technology hubs and are smooth as silk and seemingly indestructable.
Enjoy the ride,
Ed

I have always enjoyed riding a Trek and have never had a problem with anything of theirs.
In reference to your particular Trek, great job! I love the colors and the fade in the back. Great handlebars, too.

To me frames are frames as long as they are properly designed and built. I don't really care what brand the decals advertise. I'm just not a brand junkie. Having said that, your build is truly outstanding. There is something to be said for painting CF isn't there? You've spent time and money getting the color scheme to work and you've added CF components to help keep the bike more pure in terms of materials. Everthing works very well together. It is a custom bike in every sense of the word. Nice job!

Who cares about the bike manufacturer, it looks to me you could probably customize any bike into a work of art. Very Impressive! The work you did on the bars are my favorite.

Rad,
Seriously.....very nice indeed.
I keep picturing that same scheme in an orange theme, like the Euskatel bikes. I just think that would look hot too.

It's hard not to love AND hate Treks. And it is complicated.
But thank God for that company. Good for American cycling. How great was it that an American won the Tour de France on a friggin TREK from Wisconsin for 7 years?
Put that in your friggin 'Cycling is European' hat Euro!!!!!! That clearly kills the Europeans as much as the fact that the guy riding those annoying/dorky Treks was from TEXAS. It must drive them crazy : ).
By the way, Texas is STILL bigger'n France.

It's totally awesome, and in fact if those pics were a little larger, they'd be desktop wallpaper material.
I'm a fan of Trek because they've treated me so well when it came to warranty stuff. Yours looks almost unTrek-like though. The changes make it look more exotic.

but to say that a photo is 99.9% lighting without any regard to art direction and composition is absurd.
Aren't you a designer of some sort?
