Handlebar testing update:
Swapped from 90mm Origin 8 "Ultim8" stem + Deda "Anatomic 310", to Cinelli 70mm + Soma Hwy One. Much MUCH more comfortable. The Soma is very similar to Ritchey, but 26mm. Does not have any flare at all, but thats OK.
Handlebar swapping was finished after the sun went down, so test rides were up and down the driveway under the 97% full moon.

Whoa nice bike! I hate to say it but has it been crashed? There is what looks like a bend in the top tube and down tube near the head tube. It's present in the shadow too, hopefully just a trick of the light or lens.
Sweet colour.

I thought that too at first, but it's called 'ovoid' for a reason! It's the french manufacturer's take on aero at an early stage. The top tube is flattened near the headset, and the down tube is round all along but has a very slight curve near the headset too. Very hard to explain, but you can see that it was meant to be this way when you have the frame in front of you.

This Eddy Merckx Corsa is NOT MINE. It is on eBay right now and looks like a wonderful example of what's up in this thread! Fully equipped with Campagnolo Athena 11 except for the Delta brakes. I'm still waiting patiently to do my own conversion sometime in the near future... Keep the inspiration up, folks!

I know you're not the last person who's going to ask this question (I asked myself the same thing before buying the frame), so you can find my previous answers to that question here and here. I know it looks like the tubes are bent, but when you handle the frame, you can clearly see that it was designed that way. Another thing pictures don't do justice to is the flattened top tube, which is actually pretty wide when you look at it from the top but seems on the contrary quite thin when you look at it sideways.

Lockdown got me like 'chance to finish a few things'. By finish I mean swap stuff over a lot...

I have a slightly older Paconi that I have been working on during lockdown. Finally got around to swapping out the down tube shifters to brifters from the parts bin. Would love to share some pics, but alas, this is my first post. Long time lurker, 9 more to go...

Almost done building up the Columbus Brain Battaglin frame I found on CL a month or so ago. Gonna get a Deore XT RD and call it good. I can't afford Campy stuff, and it doesn't go on sale too often.
Frame is awesome, somehow it lets you ride comfortably, a gear or two higher than you would normally use on a given hill. Doesn't translate into faster speeds necessarily, but it's nice when I'm over-geared on a hill, to have the ability to still pedal through. And this frame eats up big ring sprints up hills like nobody's business, which is good, since I do a lot of that kind of stuff, especially on rolling descents.

'84 Guerciotti SLX, finally converted from DA 7700 group to mostly campy - 9 speed Veloce with DA crank left on (too cheap/lazy to chase down an italian threaded square taper bb).

But your top tube appears to "rise" in a way that doesn't match others
Example from Steel Vintage:
The top tube ahead of the VITUS logo on this example does crimp down (flatten?) but there is no rise/kink like your frame.
Similar with this example:
Are my eyes playing tricks on me?

Beautiful bike, and I'm still not sure the frame is free from damage. The flattened section of the top tube where it meets the head tube is easily seen with other examples of 992s.
