I think the seller needs a new bike mechanic.

It looks like the bike model is still reasonably current.

Someone thought it would be a great idea to buy this and list it for double MSRP. The brakes are truly dismal on these things.

I always imagined Darth Vader riding a Huffy.

Can I get one of these instead?

He had it at the recent swap. He's into really old bikes, like pre-WWI. It's a pretty nice bike.

My community has been wracked lately and it makes me look askance at hinky listings... I really can't figure this one out, though. Premium components, too-low price, blacked out frame.

Road Bike with shimano Ultegra and 105 $200obo!!

Mint 62 cm Miele Road Bike w/ Suntour Superbe Pro Group

This one keeps showing up...

If the original owner paid $1900 in mid 90s, that would be $2600 today, which seems a lot for a Miele, with an Ishiwata 022 frame, no?
If you were a collector, it would have lost value as he swapped out the tubular rims for clinchers, though they are period. Not sure if Cinelli would have been the original stem on an otherwise all Japanese bike.

Its a nice bike. Rebuilt wheels and overhauled, I'm sure it is a nice ride. But $1200 (even if that is $1200 CDN) seems at least double if not more.

Hard to tell. Could be a Nashbar frame or something.

Overall it would be a good deal assuming the shifters match the cassette. I'm surprised it doesn't appear to have sold.

Ok, how about classic upturned handlebars? How in the heck do you ride it? Price is probably OK. 4 bikes + 2 frames for $150 total.

Vintage bikes - $150

Nice build. We don't get many Miele bikes around here, so it is hard to judge. If it had been a Campagnolo Record group on a classic Colnago in pristine condition, then it may fetch the asking price, or even a bit more. That is a pretty tall bike too.

This just in: Eddie Merckx now going by "Eddy". Wacky stuff!

Antique Eddie Merckx Bikes

Antique Eddie Merckx Bikes - $1500 (23263 Denton Street Waterloo, Ne)
Eddie Merckx (now known as Eddy) did make a few of his own bicycles before he established his own manufacturing company in his own country in 1980. Five years before that he made a few bicycles for prepaid special orders only. My husband ordered and received these bikes in the first year, 1975, when Eddie first began manufacturing which was originally in Birmingham, England. All parts are original. THEY BOTH LOOK BRAND NEW, BARELY RIDDEN!!! The male bike is blue with 22'' frame. The female bike is orange with a 23" frame. Excellent value for true collectors!!!

Interesting. There seem to be both early Falcon and Kessel Eddy Merckx bikes. It is doubtful that Eddy made many bikes himself, although he may have done some assembly. But, in the mid 70's, he was a RACER not a builder.

As far as the name, I'm seeing a few "Eddie Merckx" webpages, but haven't seen it written on a bike.

Apparetly there was a choice to abbreviate: Edouard Louis Joseph Merckx, and I wouldn't be surprised if more than one spelling was used in his early career, also when dealing with different countries and languages.

Some photos and components would be nice if they're expecting a $1500 sale.

Infuriating because it's such an easy fix. Just a few turns with a 6mm hex, spin the stem around, then re-tighten. BUT NO! With the cable hanger like that, how do they even ride this in a straight line? Also note the crushed reflector rubbing on the down tube. Yikes!
