Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

DIY home theater speakers and subwoofers

Someday I'll even figure out how to make them look good

(That's two speakers - the old waveguide build with the new ribbon build tweeter/mid enclosure on top)

(Current subwoofer 4 x 15" infinite baffle)

Nice rig ... I too am into building speakers lately but designing them is still way beyond me ... I just copy designs for now.

Thanks Designing speakers is still quite a ways beyond me as well. Subs are easy, speakers are ridiculous! I'm learning more about design but when the weather gets nice I seem to forget all about speaker building... That results in me finding myself cutting wood in the garage in Feb when it's 12 below zero lol

Same here ... my speaker building is halted in the summer and is replaced by cycling

Have thought about doing some very high overclocking using dry ice or even liquid nitrogen, but that req. a lot of motherboard insulating and other special gear.

Golf... Although cycling is starting to take over my golfing times... The most popular times to golf are also the best times to play golf. I work quite a bit so I either have to choose to play golf one day or go riding.... It changes month to month on which has more priority...

"Mine" isn't overclocked, just sheer parallel horsepower. That big box is only one small part of the machine.

Thanks. I had to skip a couple of bike rides to get it squared away, but it's not really something you can put off. Gardening is a time-sensitive event. I try to make up for the missed rides starting right about now. The garden pretty much takes care of itself (thanks in large part to the electric fence) from here on out.

Perhaps it's a bit to late (my bad) to revise the question but I meant to ask about your other activity(ies) that you are passionate about. Activity that occupies your mind during waking moment and consumes times and money, your life seems to resolve around, and your family thinks you are too obsessed but has to put up.

My wife and I are considering one of these. Of course, I would have to sell the bass boat. We have been out sailing quite a few times this summer, and both love it. We are casually looking, seeing what is available around 30 ft. in our area. So far I am fond of Hunters because they have a little more height in the cabin (being 6'4" some of the cabins can be a little cramped).
