Today I got a free Turbo from the co-op. I must say, it's rather comfy.

I consider these to be the worst saddle I have ever ridden... the Turbo-matic on my road bike is really nice but the original Turbo is a torture device.

Have come across a good number of them and friends have always been grateful when I have passed them along.

i'm definitely expecting to have to strengthen my way into it, but the 66gi has gotten too easy on my usual urban route even when spinning my little heart out.

my return to cycling has been more rewarding/challenging than my lifting days. i used to squat #660x5 for the fun of it, but commuting to work mostly uphill almost every morning (even w/ gears) really put me in my place.

and 52x11? at that point i'd worry about being able to come off the line at a stoplight and get up to speed before the light changed.

That proves we all definitely have very different asses. The Turbo is one of my favorite saddles.

I have fairly wide sit bones for a guy and the Turbo is probably just a little too narrow and has a little shoulder across the sides that reduces it's effective width... saddles that are the same width with a slightly different top are fine and I can even ride a slightly narrower saddle if the design is right.

Having a bad back and a messed up hip does not help either...

Today I saw a group of 6-7 police cyclists ride together down the sidewalk. I found it amusing.

^to piggyback that. saw a guy in my neighborhood (very low traffic street) riding by himself on the sidewalk. It ended for a stretch and he sprinted to the next section of sidewalk, looking behind him several times.

Off to bed and then a cram session before my first final.

HAHAHA Oh god that was awesome.

Today I had a team training session (awesome to almost have the track to just you and your friends). Got a 13.1s flying 200m, first time trying them timed. I have no idea how fast or slow that is. Probably slow.

The trolling kinda slowed to a stop, so I left the group. Hahaha It was a good hour or so of hard trolling.

That's a great time if it's your first time doing it! You were going 34mph, so that's not slow at all. Aim for sub-13 next time.

How many gear inches were you running?

Oh sweet! HAha, I didn't know. I'm hoping to break into sub 13 soon.

I was running, 49/16 (80.5) I felt like I was spinning pretty fast before hitting the finish line. Maybe 49/15 (84.2) would have been better?

Good luck on hitting sub 13.

49/16 is good gearing to start, perfect for warm up and beginner races. Once you start moving up to a higher caliber, you will want more inches, and you will break sub 13 soon if you can turn a 49/15 well.

Thanks! I'll buy a 15t cog and give it a try. I should have bought the 48t FSA chainring I saw at a swap meet for $15. I was too lazy to go pull out more money :C

Today my boyfriend and I are finally going to dial in our hood positions and tape our new Nitto Noodles. I'm also going to try my new rear rack (IRD Khyber) while the he tows our dog in the Burley Tail Wagon. I'm so happy it's finally warm enough to ride again!

Today I got my lab tests back. Amazingly, I'm in good health. I chain-smoke, am a former drug abuser, used to be a complete *****, drink more whiskey and beer than anything else, and survive on pork belly and burgers. Somehow though, thyroid, liver, heart, kidneys, and blood sugar are normal, I am STD free, and have clear lungs. I'm ****ing amazed.

I hate 12 year olds... they can do anything to abuse themselves and still be healthy.
