One of the many things I like about living in nowhere rural Mittelfranken is all the farm roads, two tracks and hunting trails.

I suppose any mention of Wilder Ranch is not complete with mentioning the Chickens. My kids, when younger, loved them. Lots of good trails in Wilder, not much need for a full on mountain bike on the majority of the trails. We are lucky!

Wilder Ranch is historic demonstration ranch and keeps a bunch of chickens in the building behind the bike in the photo. Thus, Wilder Chickens.... at least I assume that's what the reference was. Either that or wild and crazy chickens go out for a wild night on the town...

It is the side of the barn where you lean your bike when you visit the chickens and re-fill your water bottles.

My Family stems from Dinkelsbühl, recorded since about 1800 and prolly long before then.
We still have our family home there. And I keep a bike there for my yearly visits (until COVID hit).
I absolutely need to get back 'home'.

It stopped raining here at the end of December. If this keeps up, everything might be ashes by the end of this year.

Took my main road bike out today for a fun 20mi ride on rural pavement. I mapped out a bunch of roads I've never been on and ends up one was actually gravel for a handful of miles. Fun surprise!...though about 1min after this pic the road turned to soup because a treeline blocks the sun.
