Not you, TealLA is speaking about poster Beverly who missed the whole point of the thread re: pain. BTW, hammer hard bro, I like that term, "healthy, powerful fatigue".

TealLA isn't referring to you, he is directing his comment to Beverly, explaining that Beverly didn't get the point of the earlier conversation.

Palm Springs. I didn't bring a camera to some of the others this year but I have a new Century this Saturday and I will try to get some pictures during it. There is a city close to me that is putting on the Century to celebrate their centennial. Some of our group is planning on a sub 5 hour but they are setting up a lunch break at a winery in Temecula and I don’t how many will be up for running a pace line after that lunch. Or how many I would trust in a pace line after that lunch.

It is supposed to have 4300 feet of elevation gain but I think that is total and the biggest climb is only about 2000.

I was addressing this statement. A proper fitting bike allows most people to push their limits without pain caused from a bad fitting bike. Pain from a bad fit is different from pain/exhaustion from pushing yourself to ride harder/faster.

Well have a great ride and remember the Merlot comes AFTER the ride, not during! BTW, know the area well, used to be a High School teacher in Hemet.

At that point I totally understand what you meant....what I meant was that, on any given day, there are probably 10-15 different bike brands that, with proper fittment, would be fine. Choose one, buy it, get fitted and start pedaling!

I don't want to be challenged - at age 71, I've been challenged all I want.

A bit sad, IMHO.

So, now I just tolerate 50+ - so many long-term great posters barely post or have disappeared lately.

I agree Dnvr. That thread about not feeling like belonging around here was hijacked by the gun lobby, and the cheap shot at Beverly in this thread was pretty well enough.

The arrogance, elitism and condecending attitude of the OP in this thread is overwhelming. Little wonder I post more in the Clydesdale forum that I do here.

Thread reported to mods for action.
