I aspire to inspire You can thank a crashed UO8 I bought for parts for those openers. It's the bike that just keeps giving! Made a stool out of the rear triangle and a paper towel roll holder out of the front triangle.

Box was in great shape when it landed on my doorstep; those hefty corner reinforcement thingees are all that. Here's how she looked when opened:

Having sorted through the box I've selected, from top to bottom:

1) small Kirtland frame pack
1) old school metal RD cable loop
1) English threaded bottom bracket setup minus a spindle
1) small piece of rotten fruit (nectarine?) complete w/fruit flies

That last one will be useful for either my lunchbox or compost pile.

I'll now dig through my deep piles of French-threaded shifter tensioners and bent forks and see what I can contribute

Once on eBay I saw where someone had cut a broken (I assume) campy front hub into a business card holder. Ground one side of the flanges so it'd sit flat and cut a slit in it at maybe 135 degrees from the flat side to hold the business cards. I often wish I'd bought that.

I think a Drillium stem would be a perfect candidate for a bottle opener.

Agreed! Might not be as durable as a steel fork, but it should open a few bottles before rounding off the opening edge.
@Lascauxcaveman uh, heh, how did that organic matter get in there? You are probably actually really wondering how it got in there... Well, another unspoken rule of the Box 'o Crap is probably to not pack it in the dark immediately before you head off to work. And also, don't be eating a nectarine in a paper towel while unpacking the box and place it next to the headset wrapped in a paper towel. Sheesh! I profusely apologize for that nasty surprise, and appreciate your humor! Also glad that you actually benefitted from something else I put in the box. Enjoy that spring piece of cable loop!

I was pretty amused, too. That was completely original at least.

I just hope no one takes the name "Box 'o Crap" literally. Rotten fruit is close enough. ;p

Maybe I can accidentally find some other weird thing to do next go around. Just to keep things fresh... Or rotten, as it were.

There used to be a series of cat toys that appeared in the box previously.. I think those might be preferable to rotten things.

Ha! All mine. Hope they serve you well. I think that is about it for my contributions.

Wait! Nevermind. Looks like that saddle bag on top is mine too.

Youse guys is making my life difficult

I'm trying to catch up the first post with received/sent dates. Since lately those receiving/sending aren't noting it on the thread, I'm kinda stuck for info. If you get the box, please check in and inform us? Same when you send? It would make updating easier for me - thanks!

Sorry about that DD! Definitely want to make this as easy as possible to manage. Thanks for admin'ing; It's a ton of fun! I'd post my dates, but it looks like you got them already. Will stick to protocol next time.

I have been thinking about this for a while... Put me on the list. I would be glad to make someone's trash my treasure, and I think I have some trash that others will treasure.

Out of curiosity, I don't notice a rule, and didn't look through the list of names. When will those members who participated early on be able to get back in line?
