Ha! Thanks for the thought, jeirvine. Forum member Cache is going to be in Waterbury sometime over the next week and should be able to get it for me if it's still available.

That is a looong drive you made for your Gran Sport! I hope it was worth it, and if so I hope this one pans out for me.

I would like to offer a big shout out to Cache in advance, it was very gentlemanly to offer his services. This forum is pretty great!

Really clean looking 48cm Ironman. I could facilitate if someone far away has to have it and the seller won't ship.

48cm Centurion Ironman Dave Scott - $290 (Huntington Beach)

https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/bik/3951985983.html

Ironman Dave Scott in excellent condition for sale by original owner. Has full Shimano 600 group which includes derailuers crankset, bottom bracket, headset, hubs, brakes, and shifters. The Shimano 600 was the first index shifting group and later was renamed as Ultegra. New tires, tubes, tape and recent cables. This bike has a high quality Japanese made frame which is fully lugged and uses Tange 1 tubing. The bike is in excellent original condition and has been extremely well maintained. It has kept stored indoors since new and has very low miles on it.

Why do bikes that are always in the sweetest shape always have to be for people that are so incredibly short?

(No offense meant to short people, you lucky sots!!!!)

1983 Trek 600 - 21" Reynolds 531 Frame - $300 (Belmont/Watertown)

Pristine 1983 Trek 600. 54 cm ctc. Silver brazed, butted Reynolds 531 frame. Aside from a few nicks in the paint, this bike looks almost new and unridden. It is all original (Suntour Blue Line derailleurs, Dia-compe brakes, Aerox cranks, maillard hubs), except for the saddle and seatpost (a very nice Thomson). 27" wheels, but easily converted to 700c.

more info on the 600 can be found here:
https://www.vintage-trek.com/TrekBrochure1983Part1.htm

The 600 was a midline sport/touring model. These vintage Treks are well respected for their excellent quality and smooth ride. In 1983 they were still (mostly) handmade in Wisconsin. It's tough to find one in this superb condition.

This bike is rideable, but has not been restored, which means the cables and brake pads could be replaced and the hub/headset/bb bearings could be cleaned and repacked. It also needs handlebar tape and some brake hoods. It's really fun to ride - unfortunately, it's just a bit small for me.

Please respond with a phone number in your email, and include the words "Red Trek" in the subject of your email. This will help me to weed out the inevitable spam.

Someone needs to grab this one. I've got it's twin, paid a bit over that for it and not sorry at all. Great bike.

Yeah, I know ZIP about mountain bikes and I won't go near anything carbon. So I guess I missed something good?
