Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Picked up a new set of 2011 Specialized Comp Road shoes. I can't find pictures anywhere on the net, but to my surprise they have the boa clips like the s-works shoes. They are sweet.

Dang, and I thought I got a good deal on my pro shoes. But I paid a little more than you did!

A 1980-something Schwinn something-or-other. I don't care - $10 will make for a nice beater. I just need to verify that it's all straight (one rear dropout looks a little awkward) and then it's off to get powdercoated.

Two camelback water bottles $4 each -- price matched them @ Performance.
Two Hutchinson "Fusion 3" tyres $30 each -- had to tell performance they marked them up by $10 compared to their catalog!

Got some Fizik Dual tape. Hard as hell to wrap evenly, and I'm not loving the way it looks. The feel is not bad, and it seems to be a durable product. This is a bit unfortunate, since I'm already thinking of getting rid of it. Live and learn, I guess...

I believe you have landed yourself a late 80's Panasonic built prelude or Tempo Columbus tenax steel frame. HELL of a deal! If it has the adjustable stops in the rear drops it is a Tempo.
https://www.trfindley.com/flschwinn_1...90/index5.html

The Panasonic catalog of the bikes of the same level are all Tange Champion (Schwinn specified the tube used on the bikes they stuck their names on).

I built some of those up at work. They're nice. I like how you can race it and then put a rack on it.
