Quick release skewers that are durable, lightweight and don't creak...and cheap?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I tried the KCNC titanium skewers at the beginning of this season. They came in at 39g for the set and saved about 90g over my old skewers (and at $72 for the pair, that's an excellent g/$ return). However, I read a lot about flex problems with the titanium axles, so I made it a point to get them as tight as I could by hand. I ended up crushing the cam cup after about a month and exchanged them for the stainless axle version (BTW, I got excellent customer service from Jenson).

The KCNC stainless skewers are still only about 60g/pair, and cost ~$40. You still have to get them fairly tight to eliminate creaking, but not nearly like Ti model. On the whole, I think they represent the best balance of strength, weight, and price (and bling). Can't yet speak to durability issues that have been mentioned.

I use Dura-Ace skews the Ultegra are just as good you will never use another pair! Smooth action and keeps them wheels tight is all you need in a good skewer.

I just got the 105 skewers for ~$50 shipped. I don't think the Ultegra skewers weigh less than 105.
