Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This is my West Texas-Wind Cutter...a 2004 Lemond Buenos Aires. I just put the Specialized Pro Tires on and I love them.

Uhm, how do I make the picture smaller?

My new used LeMond

Just got this LeMond (model/year unknown) a few days ago!

At first it seemed too flashy for me, but it's very quickly grown on me...

I just started a thread about this bike, hoping that someone could identify it, and asking about decal removal.

More pictures here.

No blue 21mm Conti 3000 available anywhere. Will probably go black with Conti Attack/Force combo in a few months when I need new tires.

Did you have to mount it there to get it to work with HRM?

No, Mavic WinTech computer cadence sensor. Love it.
The speed sensor is in the front skewer. The cadence can go on the downtube, seat tube, or chain stay.

I have a seperate HRM that I use for XC Ski and Running.

I just put a red and black Fizik Arione on my '06 Reno with some red Fizik Microtex bar tape on the way! When I get the bar tape on I will take some pictures and post.

I have also flipped the stem!

How are the wheels doing on that one (Reno)? I just got one, but haven't been able to ride (its waiting for me back home) and I am wondering about the low spoke count.

Don't give up on a matching set of blues and repost w/ an updated pic if you find a match --- your bike will look even sweeter.

The wheels are holding very good, I have had no problems with them at all, I am 6'0 and 180lbs and they seem fine far. You will not be dissappointed in the Reno at all, it seems to be a really solid first bike, I got tons of compliments on it so far!

All these Lemonds and not ONE pre-Trek Lemond? Not one beautifully hand crafted by Roland Della Santa or Roberto Billato, Columbus lugged steel, pre-trek Z-Team era Lemond?

True, there was a Team Z carbon fiber frame ( one of 200 made I think) on ebay about 2 months ago, sorry it was not my size and was more than what I could afford.

Jeez I didn't even know LeMond make bikes at all until I began shopping for my new bike last year. Once I saw them, they looked rather striking to me and immediately caught my eye.

And I am kind of diggin' this LeMond thread staying active too...WOOOO HOOOOO!!!

Cheers,

Brian

So do I. I find myself choosing my steel LeMond Zurich over my LOOK KG461 quite a bit.

Dude, it looks like you've got a nice crankarm resting against the guardrail. Or the fork. Or both.

Pedal resting in the curve in the guardrail.
Fork not touching the guard rail... and if it was, I'm not sure it would bother me...

New and Improved '06 Reno

Here is my '06 Reno before I changed anything:

Here is my Reno now, I have flipped the stem, put an Fizik Arione Special Edition saddle, and some Fizik Microtex bar tape to match the seat.

Seeing this thread continues to live, here's how mine use to look. I've since reinstalled most of the stock components.
