Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

^flip it, rotate those bars down & reposition the hoods Nice bike, enjoy it.

There seems to be a lot of bikes showing up lately that look like the handlebars are getting ready for take off, what gives?

Maybe that's the way we like 'em.
Not every poster here is in his/hers 20's and a racer.

What does being in their 20's, and being a racer have to do with it? It's about proper bike fit, and efficiency? I have 6" of drop, and my bike is comfortable for 5-6hrs at a time no sweat.

I'm 34 with arthritis in my spine/sternum (amongst other joints) and I don't race.

Doesn't seem like the bars are properly set up is all. Usually when I see bikes set up that way I assume it's because the fit is off and the rider has to do something drastic to be comfortable... or... bike shops are not fitting people properly.

nice Allez popsicle... love the red... high visibility

wish I had saved up a little more for the higher level... I have just the base Allez Sport.

It breaks my heart seeing all these bikes, where most of them cost more than mine and look so much nicer.

Damn you Sora shifters!!! >:O

But...! But...! Thumb shifters!!!!

EDIT: In all honesty I do admit that my bike isn't crap... I just get a little envious. Oh well. I think of it this way, my bike is unique in that no one else has it... everyone else that I ride with has Roubaix and Tarmacs. I'm the only one with an Allez

Allez is an aluminum Tarmac. Roubaixs are no fun, except the S-works.

I actually want a Roubaix, as it provides a more comfortable ride compared to the Tarmac... which will come on handy especially when going over the not so well maintained roads... of course I haven't test ridden either though.

Sora thumb shifters are just Shimano's way of letting you know you should switch to Campy umm, so that you'll know what actual quality thumb shifting is like of course

Just started reading the road section of bike forums recently, so I might as well post my "road" bike.
It's a Surly Long Haul Trucker with mixed and matched Shimano & SRAM drivetrain

I'm OBSESSED! HELP!

Here is a picture of my 2000 Trek USPS. This is not an updated shot. I no longer have the tape that you see on this. Ultregra 6500 triple with Bontrager crankset

This is a shot of my 2007 Trek 6.9 Madone, tape has also been changed, as well as water bottle cages and pedals. The cages are black carbon ones now. All Dura Ace 7800

Here is one of my 2006 Aegis Victory All SRAM Red compact crank, does have zero gravity brakes.

Here is one of my 2007 Aegis Victory...I was working on becoming a distributor for their frames and they closed shop. Also SRAM Red, Spinergy Stealth FCC, Token Integrated handlebar set. All my bikes have Selle SMP either Pro Strike or Avante seats on them. The also all have Speedplay Stainless Zero pedals

My Leader Time Trial tank...

My Giant TCR:

And last but not lease my Vellum Elemente 1 pound 14 ouce 60 CM frame! All Dura Ace 7900 Compact
She is 16.5 pounds.
