That's fantastic! I remember Jan '16 when I set a goal of riding 18 miles. What a feeling I got when I accomplished that objective. Pedal on!!!! Stay safe.

Wow!! What was it like riding high mileage consecutive days like those posted? How many hours a day in the saddle? Curious.

July 7 - 19.8 miles
July 13 - 19.9 miles
July 14 - 19.9 miles
July 20 - 20.0 miles
July 24 - 19.9 miles
July 27 - 20.0 miles
July 28 - 19.8 miles

Hit 318 miles for the month today, with 65 miles on the final two days. Past the goal of 250.

Next month could be tricky . . . a couple of work trips will reduce the number of rides.

According to my Strava, I've gotten 297 miles in for July, including my first ever metric century on Saturday. If I'd have known that I lacked less than four miles from having 300 miles in this month, I'd have ridden further this morning. Maybe I'll take my son out for a bike ride tonight.

Funny, 3-4 years ago when I started, I thought I don't really care to ride even 50 miles. I was busy daily riding 12 miles and moving up to around 15-20 miles a day. Then divorce and I found a lot more time on my hands and started riding with a buddy at work where I joined him on a 60 mile ride last year. I was worried. Last year I rode 60-70 miles about every weekend I had available and this year I was talked into doing a benefit ride for veterans Pitt to DC. Wasn't sure I would be able to do consecutive rides like that but it was no problem. Last day of the DC ride I was talked into the New York trip.

We don't ride fast and hard, about average of 10-11 mph. There is so much out there to see when touring these long trails that we take a lot of breaks or side trips (spent an hour exploring a cave on the C&O as opposed to most of the others who were just blasting down the trail to get to the end.)

As for time, when on a trip you are on time constraints. That can go both ways. Either you have to rush to get somewhere, or you don't want to get somewhere too early. We are out to ride, not sit at the hotel. So, we time it to leave around 8 am and get to our stop at around 7 or 8 pm, so 11-12 hours total riding. That means, when we see something, we stop. The DC trip as I said, we saw caves and stopped to explore them. Across NY, we stopped at a clock museum, rail road museum, lots of bike shops. Stopped for ice cream, or to take photos of the falls that we came across.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like it could be something my body could handle. It also sounds like a getaway I will have to look into. Thanks again.
