To ride, I just bought an Alan with a nice Veloce 9 speed group. But realized the Alan had a cracked dropout, now I need a frame for the group I have...

+1...

Why would someone facilitate a bike that they can sell to someone just looking to take the profit?

I gladly facilitate here...as others have done for me...to further our collective community hoarding/collections.

I've ended up selling bikes that people facilitated for me...but it was never the initial intent. I didn't want them as a flipper, and was happy to just get money back.

I'm curious about the yellow Merckx also, because if its not dented or cracked I'd be interested in it.

Mineral Spirits and Toothbrush?

1982 Univega Gran Rally 63cm Road Bike w/ Shimano 600 Components - $200 (Chapel Hill / Carrboro)

"If you like vintage roadies then you'll love this beautiful teal blue bike. Steel-lugged with a Miyata-made frame. Shimano 600 components. Brand new front wheel and tire ($140 value right there!). Rear tire only has about 150ish miles on it. The quality and construction are much better than the other similar-period stuff being peddled on here. Univega Gran bicycles have always been a great ride at a great value. Can't beat it, really. Quite speedy and much lighter than you'd expect, too. It's not perfect, but it's problems are small ones: could use a nicer saddle and new bar tape, has some scratches, and a little bit of surface rust here and there that can be taken care of with some mineral spirits and an old toothbrush.

Asking $200, but will sell for a little less if you can take it by August 2."

1982 Schwinn Voyageur? with 600 groupset minus wheels. looks like a 25" frame.

Vtg Schwinn Chrome Silver Bicycle Bike Frame w/ Shimano Biopace 600 Shifters

I believe this is the "other" De Rosa.

Note that he avoids showing the seatcluster, fork crown or lugs...

Almost like he's setting up the argument "well it IS a de rosa" and showing enough to see it...but while still being misleading and hoping someone who doesn't know won't pick up on it.

TREK 400 CR MO Steel RACE BIKE - $200 (FRAMINGHAM)

TREK 400 RACE BIKE VERY LIGHTWEIGHT IN GOOD CONDITION.
NEEDS NEW HAND GRIP ONLY. ASKING FOR $200 OR BO.
Seat Bar 19"
Tire 27"
Pedal Arm 7"
Fit person under 5.5Ft
Very Light weight

Also, can you give me pointers on the best way to post a link here, so it'll include the pictures and all? I assume it doesn't involve pasting a link for each individual picture, but maybe I'm wrong...
It's normal for the large ring to be on the outside and the smaller ring on the inside. Most front derailleur pivot up and out so the larger ring goes outside. Plus most want the in return ring smaller to go it's the largest back freewheel cogs to give you climbing gearing and a proper chainline.

$60 (?) Reynolds Dawes

Dawes Super Galaxy Vintage Bike For Sale (Plaza)

"This is a super old vintage bike made in England. The tires need to be replaced. I bought all of the replacement parts but decided the bike wasn't the right fit for me (it's tall). The frame is in good condition. There is a lock that will need to be cut off with bolt cutters. See picture for bike and parts. I would be willing to sell the bike and parts separately. I would at least like to get my money back for those ($60). Make an offer!"

Here's a popular bike in a small size.

https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/...244517468.html

Trek 520 touring bike, 43cm frame - $400

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Trek
model name / number: 520

Trek 520 touring bike, 43cm frame. Dark green paint with light brown bar tape. Dope for touring and/or commuting, and made to last.

Shimano Deore components. Bar-end shifters. Rear rack included. Currently set up with clipless pedals. According to this chart at Trek Bike Models by Year and Color I believe the bike to be in the 1992-1995 range. There's a cateye computer mounted on the handlebars but I haven't checked whether it works.

If you're on the shorter side and have been having trouble finding a bike that fits, you know the only way to be sure it's comfortable is to try it out. Trust me, I feel your pain. This could be your bike if your height is in the 5 foot ballpark, or if you're a bit taller with shortish legs.

Come try it out- email me to arrange a test ride.

Pricey, but DAMNNNNNNN!

Also...Not sure I'm buying that seatpost on there; lugged would have looked better, or campy to match the rest of the bike. The nitto bits look out of place.
