Fork does look bent, but it also looks like someone went to the trouble to put alloy QR wheels on it. Very un-Spritelike and a nice upgrade, but still not worth the ask.

"Good Condition For Its Age"

Antique ace schwin bicycle frame - $1 (Granite falls)

"In good condition for its age. dont know the exact age of the bike. The badge sales for 150 on internet. Make offer"

https://hickory.craigslist.org/bik/d...505493923.html

(There's a distinct possibility it would dissolve entirely in a phosphoric acid bath.)

I like that all you can read on the head badge is "old Schwinn."

Trade 18" gas 42cc chainsaw for large size mtn bike - $100 (Williamsburg)

"I have a 18" gas Poulan Pro 42cc chainsaw in the case to trade - it starts right up and runs easily. It was not used hard, not used commercially, and not abused. Gas Oil mix ratio is 40:1. It is ready to work - The chain is sharp and the tensioning system is modern so it doesn't require tools. The storage case is missing the rear end panel but still carries the saw firmly and handles fine. Saw was cleaned after each use thoroughly. Will gladly start and demonstrate it if you wish.

Looking to trade for used mountain bike (rider inseam leg length 32" - so 17 or 18 frame size).

email me back with what you have and leave a phone number and I will call you. I am located in Williamsburg VA but can come to you for the bike."

https://norfolk.craigslist.org/bik/d...511030616.html

(Well, Winter's well nigh over and you can't ride a chainsaw? Or can you?)

They amended the price in a second ad on the same page, but there's other stuff that's wacky. Even at the correct price it's overpriced by a factor of four and the seller is punching up the value of WF models that this bicycle is obviously not, and don't forget "its very own special serial number."

https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/...509759919.html

Antique Western Flyer Bicycle w/ basket - $2300 (N. Stafford)

make / manufacturer: Western Flyer
serial number: I 2915 A67

Asking $200.00
Wow! I have a great antique Western Flyer bicycle! There was only a limited number of these made between 1930-1959, so this does have its very own special serial number. We have put over $200.00 into the brakes and tires on top of what we paid for it.

Western Flyer Bicycle History

Founded in 1909 by George Pepperdine, Western Auto Supply Company consisted of a chain of automotive parts stores. However, Western Auto Supply started expanding its business with other products and stores in 1921 and eventually entered the bicycle industry by manufacturing Western Flyer bicycles around 1930. Throughout production of the bike, the Western Flyer was recognized for quality at a reasonable price.
Time Frame: Western Flyer bicycles were first produced in the 1930s and continued until they were discontinued in 1959. Throughout that time, several notable models were produced. The Speedline Airflo, for example, was one of the most popular models in the late 1930s, and the Western Flyer X-53 became popular in the 1950s.
Features: Each Western Flyer contained specific features along with new designs and materials. The Western Flyer X-53 was made with a specially designed frame made from hydrogen-brazed seamless steel. While the Western Flyer bicycles were durable and comfortable, the frames were heavy, weighing about 76 pounds. Western Flyer changed the colors of each model from year to year along with using serial numbers to identify the year and model of each bicycle.
Price: When the Western Flyer bicycles were being produced from the 1930s to 1950s, they sold for about $75. As of 2011, however, the price for authentic vintage models can sell anywhere from $100 to more than $1,000 through antique shows or auctions. The current price for Western Flyer bicycles depends on the model, condition and original manufacturer. One of the most collectible Western Flyer bicycles is the Speedline Airflo, made in the 1930s by Shelby Cycle.

My only criticism is that there's no helmut, as in the copy, shown on the people walking on that sign. Maybe the helmut is down in the snow? Are there helmut laws in Minnesota?

I check for local Miyatas nearly every day. One of the saddest I've seen for the past 5-6 years considering how nice of a bike it was once upon a time :'(

Vintage Miyata Tange Champion Road bike
Is this the product of a head on collision that bent the fork, and then the owner simply decided to flip it around?
