Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Interesting. I might just get one when they have it. Relatively new with Speedplays but love them. One time I ended up walking in a wet sandy area and the cleat got all dirtied up. Didn't have a brush so it was hard to remove all the dirt and clip in.

White seatpost collar. Don't worry, I measured my seat tube first! I've been meaning to replace my quick release seatpost collar with an allen key one, and I saw it on ebay, so I thought "what the hell? I'll go for it." I've been on kind of an ebay buying streak. I bought a keychain camera and a 1350mah battery with a solar panel on it on ebay within the past week.

This is what I bought:

2010 Bianchi D2 Cross Axis complete bike. The bike is pretty much completely unridden. For $300. I want to give cyclocross a try and this was too good of a deal to pass up. I almost felt bad getting it that cheap.

^^nice wheels neo****zy! You were luckier than I was today. FedEx tracking said the estimated delivery date on my Bora One's would be Monday, but today it said the wheels were on the truck for delivery since 1:30 am. I thought for sure I would get them today, but FedEx didn't show up.

At least they are on the truck, brother! You will definitely get them on Monday for sure! I am still waiting for my Tangente Cork Pads to arrive on Monday so I won't be riding the wheels until I get them. The shop forgot to ship them with my wheels. Boras, eh? That is some nice Italian Schwag wheels too bro! Can't wait to see pics of them on your bike!

Yeah, I only went with the Boras because they were $1300 with mounted Vittoria Corsa Evo CX tires. I actually wanted the 404 tubulars, but couldn't find them for less than ~$2k. The Boras were a close 2nd and at $1300 I couldn't pass them up. How about some pics of your 404's on your bike??? My bike will be built up w/ the Boras and Record 11 by the end of next week. I'll post pics once it's done.

Nice! A word of advice: since it has a carbon steertube, move the stem down the stack so there's one spacer above it. That way, the stem's clamping force isn't on the exposed end of the steertube where it can more easily start a crack. Seen it happen...

As for me... I'd like to switch my road-sport bike from 9sp to 10sp, maybe some Tiagra levers and a 105 cassette & chain. But I'm working about 16 hours a week until business picks up (LBS wrench) so it'll be enough of a challenge to just pay my bills for a couple months here.

For $1300 ... the Bora's are a steal, especially with the tires! Bora Ones are normally about $1900 at PBK and that is without the tires! I picked up my 404 Firecrest CC for $2050 shipped from eBay. Then again, it is last years model but I don't think the 2012 model went through too much drastic changes. At least they are new and unused. I just finished changing the casettes, tubes, and tires over from my Assaults tonight. I will post some pics up tomorrow.

Some more parts for that Schwinn. I know they're MTB parts, but the bike will be mostly used on the streets.
