When I've been fishing, the few times, it was never about catching fish. I liked to sit outside and read a paperback, and people somehow think that means that you're bored and it's an invitation to walk up and start a conversation. Even strangers, especially strangers. If you have a fishing pole and a line in the water, they almost never do that.
