Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

I tend to think threads like this are a lot about the rims, and how deep their center channel is. There must be variability in the tires too. Some combinations are just hard. I have had no such problems, and have gotten every tire I've tried on with no tools. Must be a deeper center channel than some? Sorry no help for the person having problems...

50mm GK+ were a pain to mount the first time, but dish soap helped. They weren't as much of a pain to take off as they stretched a bit.

I think I complained about GKs being hard to install a few months back in this thread. I got the Bead Jack and it worked well. I removed the same tires (32mm SKs) several months later and the beads had stretched enough that it was easy to remove them and install them on another wheelset. Then I bought some 35s and they were easy to install without the Bead Jack.

Standard compatible tire sizes are a thing of the past. Now you have to check rim compatibility to the tire to be used. You can thank tubeless for that.
