I loved checking out and riding your Pinarello, it's a great bike. I still don't get brifters, though, and I've figured out why: I'm old and creaky so I usually ride on top of the drops anyway, so if I want to shift I have to move my hand, period. I actually find it easier to reach for the downtube shifters than to fuss with the brake levers or brifters or whatever they are. The ONLY advantage I can see is that you could shift while pedaling downhill without having to take your hands off the brakes, but since I have never in my life had any desire to pedal down a hill I'm safe there too. Anyhow it was a fun ride, we should head out again - out in your part of town this time!

That's a beaut! Do you mind posting a pic of your Paris Sport? I'd be curious to see it.

Thanks. Here is a bad photo of the Paris Sport, when I first assembled it after having it shipped from Florida. I'm in the process of cleaning it up and putting it back together.

Thanks. It's so 1979 it's silly. I'll probably put a black Brooks on in place of the old yellow Turbo, but I'll keep the color scheme until I decide to repaint (If I decide)!

The frame is not fully chromed underneath, but a metallic blue (silver undercoat with clear blue overcoat plus clearcoat over the logos). Restoration done in 2001 or so; I forget exactly when.

Ok. Here are some shots of mine. I bought it new about 6 years ago and I still haven't built it up. I kinda like the funky brake bridge.

You love the yellow saddle? It's pretty old and not in great shape. My new Brooks Pro will look right at home on the bike. As for a re-paint, I wont rush into anything. I'll build it up, ride it, and see what happens.

Yeah, I love the yellow saddle. I prefer saddles a little worn in on vintage bikes. When the bike has some patina and you slap a shiny new saddle on it, it stands out too much to me. If that bike were mine, the only thing I would do is change out the bar-tape to yellow Benotto. The reason I like the bike now is it looks like a snapshot from the era it came from. When I do a build, I am always trying to go for that look, like someone just took a picture of it bing used and ridden in whatever year it was from. Once a bike starts to look to fussed over and NOS it's not appealing to me any more. Anyways this stuff is just personal preference. Throw on the Pro and post a picture and maybe I'll eat my words.

I hear ya. The aero brake levers will burst your vintage bubble, but I can't live with old Campy levers at this point. Everything else will be original Super Record. I'll build up the bike, new yellow Cinelli gel cork tape and all, then worry about the saddle.
