A-D mixte looks like an Inter 10, which means 531. Priced too high and NOT "built in the UK," but you don't find many of these for sale.

Unfortunately, only the rear quick release skewer is Campagnolo. Apparently he rode the hell out of this bike with a crew of guys who all bought Competitions in 1978. He was the last hold out, and the bike had been sitting for a long while. Not all the component's are original and the head sets heavily indexed. I'm sure I'll find more issues, but I was mainly after the frame, which looks ok for a rider. It is missing its head badge, but all the brazing looks good. I still offered to pay more than the the $50 ask.

@bark_eater - Perhaps you have hit on why so many tubular wheelsets are worn out vs clincher, simply that people who are/were committed to the effort of installing tubulars were/are the ones who burned up the miles and the wheelsets paid the price

I wish this was a lot closer, it looks like it might be a bit on the tall side.

Perhaps they thought a modern derailleur might make a better replacement than sourcing a good condition used on.

@lorica

Thanks a lot for the assist!

I paid triple that, and gladly, for a 94 that's two sizes smaller...for the offspring

It's uncanny how the upgrades mirror my own bike...barend shifters, XT derailer, even the MKS platform pedals. Also a nice seat post...but I'm too cheap to buy nice seat posts.

The logistics of getting it home will be... interesting. A BF member has kindly offered his help; I'm waiting to close the loop with him.

Nice bike. It's more like a 48 or 50 cm frame. I have a call into the owner. If it would fit me, I'd be interested in it. 51-53 cm is usually perfect but a 50 cm can be ok. 48cm is too small.

Anyone in the Evansville, IN area who could help with pick up and shipping?

Yes, but not many tall 531 mixtes to choose from. Might be worth saving, but not at that price.

    I sold A-Ds way back and I don't recall those mixte frames being taller than 21". It doesn't look like a 23", a frame I consider "tall" for a mixte. Only cheaper non-531 Peugeots, Gitanes, Raleighs and other such bikes generally come in 23" frame sizes and there aren't even many of those.

    Also, that now looks more like a Vent Noir to me instead of an Inter 10, both of them 531 bikes.
