Thanks. I'm personally happy with it, I just know that fixed conversions don't always get a lot of love in this subforum (rightly so due to those that hack frames down).

Talk about a bike that didn't want to be built though... Took three bar tapings, and two sets of cables before I settled for what I've got.

I've done that with a few builds. Eager to see how the ride quality is and threw enough parts on to get it out for a ride or two, three...

The Italian colour goes with the white easy enough. I like what you have done so far. Is this a summer ride then a winter project?

Nice, looks like your running the same brake levers I have on my Prologue, how do you like them?

I've been using the all black version on my trek and love the outward flare. They work well and are pretty comfortable. The drillium version seemed like they'd fit what I was doing on the schwinn.

My Passage. Found the frameset at a co-op while working out of town. Mostly built with what I had lying around.

Ok, so here is my 1984 Tempo, I bought this new in 85 for ~320.00. I rode this daily and as my biathlon bike through the 80s until the Peugoet showed up
Over the years it had several color schemes and saddle combinations (though I do miss the days of the black and white braided benotto tape...sadly no pics!). The pic with the neon aero bars and tape is how I rode in the early 90's (except the avocet saddle .. I never really rode with it..iirc it was a "place holder" for the pic. I still have the oem Ariake "Aero Jaguar" saddle, and the oem Dia-Compe GX-N brakes. Other than those two items being replaced by the turbo saddle and the RGC Aero brakes it's pretty much how it came from the factory with a 14-26 6sp freewheel & 42-52 chainrings. The crank as you can see is Sugino RT (aero) and the rest of the drive train is Shimano 'Z' group.

I still ride it on alternating weekends, and I actually prefer the ride over my Aluminum 1995 Super Sport....maybe we need a 1990s schwinn thead ?

what year is the Passage?? Looks very nice.

What model is the front rack? It fits very level

I have a 88 Voyaguer, and was thinking of a low rider, separate from the VO Pass Hunter rack for the front bag.

New bar tape

Thought the white tape was too loud; wanted to tone it down a bit.

Makes sense to me! I personally like white tape on that, BUT, this tape matches it for bonkers-ness, and color-wise, too.

"New" 1988 Schwinn Premis Shimano 105

Here's my latest project, from a $25 CL find to this beauty! 5700 components, Shimano WS-R330 wheels and cool Chinese knock off handle bars make a beautiful addition to my collection!

$25**********? Gahhhhhhhhh. Great great score at that price (I am commenting twice on your bike, and within five minutes of the first, haha). Another properly done late '80s Schwinn roadie that joins the ranks of some pretty righteously-colored rides already posted.

Agreed on Memphis, though I travel and when I'm on the road bikes just keep finding me. They know, somehow they just know...

Added some Microshift 7sp shifters to my '87 Schwinn Prelude.
Love the cockpit now with the Nitto 0degree stem, Soma Hwy1 bars, and 7sp shifters.
