Nice ride, 75 miles, 3900 feet, casual pace. 4 of us started but the one woman only wanted 50 so she turned back early. Feeling like a nap is coming.

They are; I thought those could still be patched though? Regardless, no more trainer tires (Hammer). It's in the garbage. I'm about to order a few more; down to two spares has my hoarder light blinking.

You could boot it from the inside but my feeling is that if more than a few cords are cut, it’s not a good idea. It’s the cords/casing that give the tire its strength. That’s why I snicker at threads in the 41 about people who “repair” small cuts in their tread with epoxy or rubber cement. Seems foolish to me. But maybe I am the bigger fool?

You don't need the special pliers. Put it in the small/small for as much slack as possible, isolate master link like this and then pinch diagonally on the link with regular pliers, so that you're pushing the inside plate with one end of the jaws, the outside plate with the other.
Either I am incompetent or my tools are no good. Tried everything I could it won’t budge. Gunna have to try and buy the pliers tomorrow .

I rode trashy in parts Scatter Wash out to the Central Arizona Project. Got a big ol' thorn in my front tire that originally had part of a branch on it going clank, clank, clank against my fork crown. I snapped it off close to the tire and kept riding, but it wouldn't totally seal, so I had to air it up 3 times to make it home.

I had a nice nap. Should I start a thread in the 50+ forum and ask if that's ok? The last guy who said he wanted a nap after his rides was soundly chastised and basically told he was near death and had better get to a doctor stat. He was actually a physician but the teeming masses demanded he get checked out anyway.

It should be part of the inner derailleur plate, and not attached to the outer plate (if it's anything like 11-speed shimano MTB derailleurs.) If you remove the pulley you should be able to push the chain around the tab, as the front plate will flex enough to let a chain by.)
