Very nice. Two questions, is that a carrying handle next to the seat tube? And what's up with that thingy on the fork?

yes. it's a handle bar for carrying the bike when it folded. also served as a frame reinforcement.
it is a full suspension bike: front fork has a German developed shock absorber - just the same as used on Dahon Jetstream P8 bikes.

Tern Verge S8i - I'm totally sold on the Gates Carbon belt drive and balloon tires.
The belt is silent and smooth, and the tires provide much better cushioning than a thudbuster combined with 20/1.5 tires.

Brompton Junction in Amsterdam. I can't say enough good things about the people who work here and the perfectionist service I received.

Not an exotic location, but notable because there's water in the creek (which runs by Google HQ in Mtn View, CA). This creek is almost always dry, but we've had historic rains recently (and more tonight!).

I have gone over my bike tightening and lubing everything. From the front wheel qr tightened and lubed on all sides to changing out the carbon seatpost to alloy, changing the headset to a litepro one and flooding the headset with lube while installing. And the main fold hinge is dripping in grease. As far as I know anything that moves is greased. And I inspected the front carbon fork while changing out the headset, found no damage and could not make it creak, inspected the frame also, no signs of damage. I am lost, no idea how to stop the sound or what is making it. And its super loud and frequent too, but also intermittent. Like today, started to creak 10mins into my ride to work and was super loud by the time I got there, but was almost totally silent all the way home 9 hours later along the same route just reversed. Its driving my crazy!
I've had creaks from most parts of a Dahon. The handlepost clamp, the main hinge, the seatpost shim against the interior of the frame. On my Vitesse I had to keep the entire surface area of the main hinge plates greased. The powdercoat quickly wore through on parts of the contact areas and there's bare aluminium touching; almost guaranteed to creak. The interior of the frame against the exterior of the seat post shim is also aluminium on aluminium; worth greasing, taking care to avoid getting any on the interior of the shim.
Note how the seat post rubs against the inside of the seat tube. That's what's causing all the ruckus. I don't know if it's poor engineering or sloppy manufacturing - probably both. For comparison, here's the inside of the my Speed's seat tube:
All nice and tight, with no rubbing or creaking. The Mu's frame is 6061 aluminum, while the Speed's is 4130 chromoly, if that's of any relevance. I slipped a piece of tube over the tip of the seat post, folding it over for a tighter fit and leaving a bit hanging over for a little more peace of mind.
Note that you'll need to take out both the seat post clamp and the shim first and slide them onto the length of the seat post before you slip the rubber over the tip; the seat post won't go inside the clamp or the shim with the rubber already on.
