Today I got a pretty cool piece of steel in the mail. Plan is to use the groupset from my Ridley to build it up, then unload that frame, but need to pick up a couple bits first. Currently trying to decide what stem to get.

One of the hardest decisions these days for builds involving a threaded headset.

A good combo between threaded stem elegance and comfort is 26mm closed face quill + soma highway 1's.

Can't wait to see it built up.

Wound up going with a Deda Murex. I have a couple 26.0 bars lying around, so I'm gonna try those out before I go buying any new ones. Eventually I might want to swap out the fork for a threadless carbon one and put my Cinelli Alter on it, but one step at a time.

It's got one of the nicer unicrown fork at least.

Nice 1" carbon forks are hard to find nowadays. I would go with a woundup, ouzo, or alpha Q pro.
Beware of alpha Q's though, they're designed with very thin carbon steerers that require a non-replaceable aluminum shim to be epoxied in place prior to starnut installation. Greatly hindering their ability to be recut to length.

so...my shops team kits are black with rainbow graphics. pretty bright, real good looking. yesterday evening i'm riding home after the thursday night crits and a dude bro is leaning out of the back window of a lifted suv screaming at the top of his lungs "stay off the road you ****ing ******!"
i don't remember the last time i was filled with such rage.

edit: the first censor is the f word and the second censor is another f word that is slang for a *****exual man. just providing a bit of clarity since the slur seemed to "match" what i was wearing at the time.

Pics of said rad jersey.

It's gets me so bummed that some people are so empathically challenged. Especially in 2017. Is it really that hard not to be a dick?

Along a similar vein, watched Hidden Figures last night about African-American women at NASA in the 1960s. Worth a view. Interesting intersection of scientific and social progress.

Is this kit what's currently on the shop's website?
