Get some automotive wax remover from an auto parts store for the wax on the mat finish. Detailers and body shops believe in it for getting painted surfaces ready for work.

Looking at ordering a new caad10 either a 2 or 3. They are very close in price any thoughts between the two?

first thought....jealousy....but after trying both I prefer Shimano to Sram so I would go Ultegra, some people love Force though and it is a great group, you can't go wrong with either. There is about a $300 difference in price so you will have to really like the Force I'm assuming.

Thanks! I have never used sram but I guess they are lighter. The 2 has fsa wheels and the 3 has mavics. I don't know if there is much difference between the two?

Great thread. Just joined the forums. I'm getting into cycling and looking to buy a bike very soon. Short list so far is Scott Speedster, CAAD 10 and Litespeed M1. So I assume y'all think the CAAD is best? The Scott is a 2010 model w/ 105 for about $1400. CAAD is more w/ SRAM. Litespeed is a 2011 for around $1800.

I assumed as much but figured there might be a couple of impartial folks in here. The CAAD 10-5 I tested did feel great. Is the one in your bike shop use the 105 or SRAM? I've seen both now.

The 2013 CAAD10-5 is 105 equiped, the CAAD10-4 is Sram Rival. Don't get me wrong, there are several bikes at this price that will serve you well but as far as Aluminum goes the CAAD is really hard to beat.

Finally got to bring her home! Had the LBS swap out the chainrings (couldn't stand how much the stock ones stood out against all the black), pedals installed, lowered the stem just a little (plan on lowering it a little at a time to make sure it works), and a quick fitting. Get to pick up my helmet later this week, order my bibs next weekend, then it's on (weather permitting).

Actually I do too, Never been able to wrap myself around the total matte paint thing. It takes just enough of the flat off to give it a more finished look to me. JMHO. One thing I thought about, if you used a true polishing wax it had knocked down the texture you had from the Matte paint colourway and the wax remover won't bring 100% of the matte back. If you try the wax remover let us know how it turns out.
Has anyone seen or ridden the CAAD 10 Black Inc. Racing yet? That model with the Ultegra Di2 seems really top shelf, to me. I love my Rival drive train but the Di2 seems like an exotic engineering exercise to me. I'd love a chance to try one out, maybe my LBS can get one in soon.

Thanks! Planning on upgrading quite a few things later on down the road, but I am hoping to get some carbon clinchers for it later this summer (thinking November's or Boyd's).
CAAD 10 Black Inc. is a really good looking bike, they had it at the LBS were I got mine. Didn't get to ride it but I have had the chance to ride a few bikes with the Di2, really nice system, you want be disappointed.

I test rode a Di2 Super six at my LBS just because I could, I agree it was very nice. If I could have afforded the CAAD10 1 I would have gotten it.

Some people may think so but I don't see the extra $300 myself....and to be honest the FSA wheels are nothing special, Aksiums are not top of the line wheels but they are solid training wheels.

Seymour, you have been working out it looks like to me. Hitting the weight room or is it those PEDs?

My CAAD9
Here is my contribution - I've had it about 3 years. Frame came used from ebay and every part was purchased individually, and many have been changed over time. I think I have it like I want it, other than the wheels.

I'm currently doing my best child-waiting-for-Santa impression while I await delivery of my brand spanking new Supersix Evo Hi-Mod DuraAce Di2 2013 and I have a question around bottom bracket compatibility the knowledgeable folks here might be able to help with.
The bike is listed as having the following bottom bracket "Cannondale Aluminium PF30 BB Cup, FSA Ceramic BB30 Bearing". I had thought it was a proprietary CAAD bottom bracket that wasn't compatible with normal cranks but truth be told the whole world of bottom bracket and cranks compatibility is a total mystery to me (know a reasonable bit about most parts of the bike but not that area). I have a DuraAce 7950 SRM powermeter crankset I need to swap out for the one that comes installed on the Supersix. Will it need an adaptor or is it just a case of swapping it straight out?
The chainset is the "NEW Cannondale Hollowgram SiSL2, Cannondale OPI Spidering, 53x39, 11 Speed (compact 50x34 included)" and while it would be pretty handy to have the option to change to full-size chainset, it's rare that I'd spin out on my 50x11 gear so reckon I'll keep with the SRM as I find training and racing with power data very useful. What would be the rough value of that chainset if I looked to sell it unused?
Will post up bikes of my new steed when it arrives...after I've had a decent bit of time alone with it first of course!
