Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

^ ^ Somewhere, there's a farmer sending a cease and desist order to whoever created a .GIF of their cow. How humiliating.

I think that Potbelly thread should just be re-titled "Do I have a potbelly?" and people just post photos of themselves for group approval or criticism. Ultimately, every thread remotely related to weight devolves into that. It's like Godwin's Law for bikeforums, except replace Hitler with "You're too fat for this sport".

I do not know why I have a pot belly.

On an unrelated note, this post-ride beer and chili burrito is hitting the spot.

Add a pint of Ben & Jerry's and that sounds like a quality snack.

My doctor has ordered me to lose 20#, preferably 30#, by my next 6 month check-up. The thought of it depressed me so much that I went to a Chinese buffet for lunch.

BTW had a fantastic club ride today. It rained overnight so the roads were wet but zero rain for the ride. We only had 7 riders, maybe the wet scared a few into not riding. Lots of good hills were climbed.

I'll have you know I'm still consuming copious amounts of caffeine and nicotine.. and you bet your ass I'm doing at least 1x a week binge on ice cream or alcohol. OR both at the same time if my blender will work..

I can't gum up the works with too much healthy stuff, at once.. that's how those health freaks all collapse at age 50.

I'm like an old car.. you can't just go changing air filters and transmission fluid on me after neglecting the last 70k miles.

See my post above on water retention. Seriously, I'll be up 2# tomorrow and it will take a couple days to lose the water weight.

Broccoli for the win. I hate that ****, but it works. That doesn't mean dipping it in ranch dressing before every bite, either.

Just not too closely - potbellies touching each other is a little off-putting.

Roast in oven until edges just turn brown. Delicious.

I've got frozen bags of the stuff, and then I usually get some fresh so that I can chop it up with my veggie medley mix that I steam and then throw into a container with a sweet potato and some turkey or chicken. #winning .

I don't actually like Broccoli, I've just decided that it's not sustainable to eat a ham and cheese sandwhich every day for lunch.

Most veggies can be made palatable with applied heat and enough olive oil, garlic salt and pepper. I mean, if fat and salt doesn't make something tasty...

Some of you people here are just odd. You're supposed to have a cringed face everytime you eat Broccoli. Next thing I know you'll tell me how you have a home-wide-ban on ice cream or anything with refined sugar in it.
