I have a gyes, it is thick leather, and like others have mentioned, rock hard. I’m stubborn, it’ll break in eventually. I believe it’s “corrected” leather, and had the top grain polished off, it doesn’t take on that “butt polished” look like the old Fujita Belts did. I’m happy with the saddle, but I’m assuming it will eventually break in, and I’ll give it a year or two to find out. A Vanson jacket or a pair of welted leather hiking boots all have a setting in phase, and you can’t rush it. 👍

Oh yeah, and when your looking for the real tensioned leather saddles, they have nose rivets.
